Foliage Hay Rides: Leaf Peepin’ Pleasure
Your journey begins by stepping up into a hay
wagon and settling down on a
hay bale for a brief farm history near our recently restored 1889 Livery and
Stable. When the tractor starts, you’ll ride for a mile on farm lanes, starting with a trip down a series of switch backs through a
wooded gorge and then back up the other side into hay fields surrounded by
woodlands. A breathtaking vista awaits you; across the valley is Lickbrook
Gorge and it’s surrounding wooded slopes — all ablaze with the colors of fall. The journey continue through a
wooded glen, then back into rolling hay fields and more spectacular views of
hillsides and valleys. Along
the way, keep an eye open for whitetail deer, wild turkey, pheasant,
coyote, red fox and a myriad of song birds. This is a relaxing journey
with periodic stops for picture taking and enjoyment. There will be a break for
cider and donuts at the turn around point.
